On Saturday the 12th of May – as a part of Arduino Day 2018 – the Integra Lab hosted a day long event in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire foyer as part of the worldwide celebration of the Arduino community.
Our community event was focused around introducing electronics to musicians. We demonstrated some of the things possible through the use of the Arduino through a multitude of projects designed to encourage interaction and playfulness – such as a sound laser and a simple sequencer – whilst also holding an all-day ‘ask the expert’ where we would answer any questions people had about what the Arduino board is, how they could use it and more specific questions focused around electronics and software.
The overall event was a success, with people of all ages and experiences with electronics coming to engage with us and the projects. We look forward to hosting a similar event next year with even more interactive projects and more hands-on work with the Arduino boards.
